By default you may add two events occurring at the same time without a problem, however you may wish to disallow this. We refer to this mode of operation as scheduler mode.

A conflict means that two events have overlapping start or end times. However you may wish to define a conflict using more detail. For example, you may wish to define a conflict as two events occurring at the same time in the same place, or at the same time of the same category. You may use any of the dropdown fields (or resources) to further define conflicting events.

Conflicts based on a resource

Conflicts are based on the entire calendar so that no two events occurring at the same time are permitted. Using the 'based on this resource' setting you may further refine the meaning of a conflicting event to mean events occurring at the same time with the same resource value. Select a resource from the dropdown to enable this feature.

Don't confuse this feature with the resource planner mode which is slightly different. Used in conjunction however, these two complimentary features provide close control over what is and what is not allowed on your calendar and how it is displayed.
