The event export dialog allows you to export events to a delimited text file or to Microsoft Excel format. There are many options available to make sure you get exactly the events you want. Exports are stored in a file called export.txt or export.csv in the current calendar folder. If present existing export files are overwritten.
Limiting exported events using a search filter
The search feature allows you to filter the list of events presented under any given view type. Once the search is completed the filter stays in effect until it is cleared. You may use this aspect of the search filter to limit the events that get exported under this screen.
Simply complete a search and then, without clearing the search, proceed to the export events screen. The search you previously established will remain in effect (we call this a filter). Only the events that match the filter will be exported.
Further control of the export file
You may further detail which fields are exported into the export file on page 2 of the customize event database. On this form you may place a checkmark next to each field that you would like to include in the export file. If a field is hidden it will not be exported unless the 'hidden' checkbox is checked above.
Reviewing exported events
Complete the export by pressing next. An export file is created in the calendar's data folder. Click on the 'review the exported data' link to review the data. This will open a new browser window which you may save to your local machine using File | Save As... If you chose the 'export to Excel' choice clicking on the link will open Microsoft Excel directly.
